The Passing of Ralph Kirkbride
December 15th, 2009
With the passing of Ralph Kirkbride, the Foundation for the Arts has lost a dear friend and a passionate proponent of the arts and culture. Ever present, the Board could always count on Ralph to conduct the good work of the Foundation for the betterment of his beloved arts community. As Secretary-Treasurer for the past four years, he was always at the ready with his intelligent arguments, and diligent in reaching satisfactory middle ground solutions to many problems. His quiet demeanour and good nature were his strengths. Ralph Kirkbride truly enjoyed connecting people with arts organizations in honest, meaningful ways.
Ralph will be especially missed in the City of Fredericton where he was a staple of local art events. Everywhere he went, people turned to him for his thoughtful and insightful advice. Though his disposition was naturally a quiet one, he has made a strong, positive impression with so many of us. He will be dearly missed.
